Yes, I think we might. My grandfather went by John C. Ferreira. It is believed that the C. stood for Camacho. Perhaps Jose Camacho Ferreira was my great-grandfather's (Francisco Ferreira) brother. Francisco's son named Anthone was recorded as 9 years in the Dacca's passenger log (born 1876). I do not have further info on him beyond a possible obituary in the Maui NEws that one Anthone Ferreira drowned 11/27/29 on the island of Maui.
Let me give you all the names (and spouses) of my grandfather's siblings in case that helps establish our connection.
Again, my great-grandfather and his wife (Francisco Ferreira and Maria de Jesus) came from Madiera to Maui on Dacca in 1885. Their children are as follows: Anthone Ferreira (no info on marriage), Maria Jesus Ferreira (married Manuel Jesus Rogers), Virginia Ferreira (married Frank Souza), Rosa Ferreira (no info on marriage), Joseph Ferreira (no info on marriage), Manuel Ferreira (married Rosa Correa da Sylva), John C. Ferriera, my grandfather (married Maria Gloria Rodrigues), Domingos "Demas" Ferreira (married Deamentina Rodrigues).
I believe most all of the children stayed on Maui. Am only certain about my grandfather (John C.) and Domingos "Demas" coming to California and marrying the Rodrigues sisters (Gloria and Deamentina). Does any of this info correlate to your history?
Look forward to hearing from you!
