Grandfather came over from Portugal in the early 1900's and we think he started working in the Berkshires. Settled with his family in a Portuguese community in the Chicopee area. Lots of Portuguese in the Chicopee/Ludlow area. GF was from an area called Alcobaca. Will be visiting Portugal summer of 2001. I've heard that our name might have Jewish roots. Keep me posted as to what you come up with as well. It sounds like we are all over the place!
