Regina BECHTEL GANDER was my great great grandmother. She was first married to Xavier GANDER in Germany and also married Sebastian FERRINGER in Germany. They immigrated to the U.S. in 1834 with their children, Anton, Nelson (Dennis) and Joseph GANDER and settled in Ripley County, Indiana. Regina's will says she had three children: Catherine BACHTEL, Joseph GANDER and Rosina GANDER COOK. Joseph married Sybilla VOLTZ/VOLZ 27 October 1850. They had eleven children: Christina, George, William, Louisa, Francis, Herman, Andrew, Nicholas, Magdalena, Mary, and Henry. Most of this information I have gotten by doing research at the Ripley County Historical Society in Versailles, Indiana and from the Ripley County website.

Let me know if I can be of further help.

Regards, Joan A Fehringer Savage
