My name is Albino Ferro and I stumbled upon your posting quite by accident. I feel I may be able to help. I live in a town called Darwen in the north west of England, 25 miles away from Manchester. My family, however, come from a small mountain-side village called Cavalerizzo, this forms part of the township of Cerzeto which is in the province of Cosenza.
In this small village you will find both the Ferro and Tudda families. I have spoken to family members of your posting and my uncle, Pasqualino Ferro, remembers stories of my grandfather, Albino Ferro, talking about a Zia Letizia.
There may be some connection, I don't know. If you visit an Italian Embassy or Consolate near you they may also be able to shed some light. Or perhaps getting in touch with the Municiple Offices in Cerzeto itself may prove useful.
I hope I have been of some help and who knows we may be cousins many times removed!
If I have steered you in the right right direction it may be worth pointing out to you that the village suffered a landslide last year. While the residents are waiting to have their town re-built they are currently in rented accomodation throughout that area.
Good luck in your search and if I can be of any more help I will post again.
