Hummm, the things you learn when you are bored and just type in "Fetterman" on a search engine and snoop around! Uriah Fetterman born Jan 6, 1846 had a daughter named Claire by his first wife Harriet Mensch. Not much else is said about her. He lived in Numidia (actual spelling/ not New Media- though it sounds the same) which is in Columbia County where my mother Betty Fetterman Shaffer grew up. His first or middle name may have been Calvin. Uriah's son Owen's baptismal record listed Owen's parents as Calvin and Susanna. Uriah had 3 wives and 14 children total.

Given that so many of the posts here seem to be distant relatives I will be emailing my mother to see if Tammy Bittner has this information to distribute via cd rom, disk, or if she has created a web site like she spoke about in the 117 page book which was published July 1997. I have several updated pages my aunt Dorothy Fetterman York has passed along to my mother. Being that my mother is out of town (those retired folks do that to you!) vacationing, I could not contact her today. I did speak to another sister of hers, Susan, and she says Tammy's parents live just out the road from her. The email address posted for her in the book is no longer valid. So with some snooping and persistance... I am sure I will track it down!
