It really is confusing. There is some wrong information somewhere in there, we just have to clean it up a little. I believe what may have happened is that the information that was given to me about my Gideon being the son of Samuel and Sophia is incorrect. I believe that he is the one that appears on the 1850 Indiana Co. census with Hannah as his wife. He has three children at the time, but none of them is a George. George was not born yet and thus would not appear on that census. I need to check the 1860 and 1870 census for Indiana County to confirm. I have them on order at the FHC here. I have sent for George's death certificate and that should clear up things a little for us. I don't know where the "E" and "S" in George's name comes from. That may be a mistake also. The moral of this story is that family researchers should not take information that is provided to them for granted until they can confirm it themselves as I am trying to do now. Will post more as I find it. By the way, do you have a source that states that the Gideon that you mention has a child named George, other than me?
For other researchers, Ira Fetterman, son of George Fetterman and Emma Pearl Edmiston had the following children: Howard Leo; Clair Blandford; Ralph John; Calvin Carl; Stella Mae; Margaret Vivian; Warren Harding; Herman Blair; George Franklin; Raymond Arthur; Velma Gertrude (my mother) and Lillian Hope.
