Sorry to keep posting today, but I received some new information this afternoon. After talking with my Mom (Joan Fetterman, married to Jim Fetterman Jr.), she said she had received a clipping from the paper about Norm Jr's passing. It was sent by Doris, Babe's widow. Apparently my mom also knew Clara, Norm Sr's wife, and met your mother-in-law a few times on trips from Detroit to Akron.
I'd be happy to pass along more information about my dad's generation and my generation if you're interested in that, and I'd be very interested in learning more about your husband's family and his Ohio-based cousins. I'm leaving on vacation for a week, return Easter Sunday, but I'd love to get anything you have the time to write up and send in an email: email@example.com. I'm most interested in births and deaths, marriages and divorces, and any family members who moved away from the rest (and where they went, of course).
For example, in your earlier post you mentioned that your mother-in-law Carol has the last name Varnam, but your husband's name is Finney. Was there an earlier husband?
Also FYI, I just got a copy of the marriage certificate of my grandparents, James Fetterman Sr. and Rhea Emily Denmire. They were married April 24, 1930 - just 6 days before my father James Jr. was born. It's amazing the things you learn about your family.
