Hello Robert,

The FEVER/FEAVER family of Marden, East Peckham and formerly Staplehurst, Benenden and Frittenden are "mine".

I'm descended from

John FEVER and Sarah "Sall" nee BEECH

Edward FEVER, son of the above, and his first wife, Ann Elizabeth READER

Ann's fourth & last son, John FEVER and Emily COLLINS (They are my great-great-grandparents. This couple, with their elder children, migrated to Australia via NZ in the mid-1870s and settled in Victoria by November 1879).

William FEVER/FEAVER, born in NZ and Florence May TYLER

Rosann FEAVER, my paternal grandmother

Edward FEVER re-married after Ann's early death to Mercy DAW and had a very large family with her. They mainly lived in Marden and East Peckham.

One of Mercy's daughters, Sarah Ann FEVER married Edwin, the brother of Emily COLLINS.

A descendant of Sarah and Edwin still lives nearby, on the outskirts of Maidstone. I've lost touch with her and she is no longer a member of the KFHS, but between us we've researched the FEAVER/FEVER and COLLINS families extensively for many years. Due to the FEVER/COLLINS connection for both of us, we are double related!

I've traced the FEAVER line back to the 1720s and down again, and it is a very extensive family. I've been conducting a One Name Study into the FEAVER and variants name since the mid-1980s. I haven't been active with it for some time now, for a variety of reasons, but am pottering away with it again.

Back in the mid-1990s, I started a book on the family, but PC trouble ruined the file. I've decided to resume the work, and can now include lots more information due to the many on-line resources available.

The LARKIN family is widespread between Maidstone and the Marden/Staplehurst area, but I don't yet have a positive connection within the FEVER family.

(I have Irish LARKIN relations and my partner, Jim, via his Maidstone SMITH family has a possible connection with a LARKIN family, too!)

Happy to hear from you and exchange information.

Cheers,

Heather Johnson
Victoria, Australia
