Hello Jon,

My mother's maiden name is Fick. I have traced her family back to the village of Cumlosen on the east bank of the Elbe River. During the partition, this was in East Germany but not too far from where you live. Cumlosen is near Wittenberge and Perleberg. My great grandfather, Joachim Frederick Wilhelm Fick was born in Cumlosen in 1854, fought in the Franco-Prussian war and immigrated to Texas in the 1870s or 1880s. Any idea if we are related somehow? Feel free to email me at woodyandrita@hotmail.com. Thanks.
