Hi David,

Do you have the Watzek Geneology? I have one and it's updated up until about 45 years ago. I'm just in the process of re-establishing contacts with family members and would like to get more information from our cousins.

"Memory of Fourscore Years" is C.A.'s autobiography and is an excellent historical resource for Scott County, Iowa. I did have a copy, but it was lost in moving a few years ago. There was a letter in the book, written in German, from one of the young men who would be working for the family in Scott County. I wish I had it translated at the time, but didn't. What they expected when they came to Iowa was farming to raise potatoes...they confused Iowa with Idaho!!

You are very fortunate to have the book, as it wasn't in general circulation, but done for the family. I know the Scott County Historical Society has a copy, which they carefully guard for posterity!! Hope you will keep yours to pass down to your children.

Karin
