The 1925 Iowa census of Marshalltown, IA shows Etta Purdy as the daughter of Michel Bence and Rosana Kolb. Her daughter Henrietta Fickes is listed with her. Here are several people working on the same Bence Family: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=Search&includedb=&lang=en&ti=&surname=bence&stype=Exact&given=michael&bplace=&byear=&brange=0&dplace=&dyear=&drange=0&mplace=&myear=&mrange=0&father=&mother=&spouse=kolb&skipdb=&period=All&submit.x=Search
Iowa marriage records show Hary W. Ficks marrying Henrietta Benze on Sept 7, 1885 in Belle Plaine, Benton County, IA. His parents are listed as H. Ficks & S. Peck: http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1195390820093#p=collectionDetails&c=fs%3A1674842
The 1860 census of Logan Twp., Blair County, PA shows Henry Fickes 3 as the apparent son of Henry Fickes 31 and Susan 33.
The 1880 census from the same location shows Henry Fickes 53 with a second wife and his mother-in-law Elizabeth Peck. It may or may not be just a coincidence.
Here is where Henry is buried: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSiman=1&GScid=45656&GSfn=&GSln=fickes
Henry was a Civil War veteran and apparently received a pension which may have genealogical data.
