I left another message which may have some clues. Go to the "last 25" on this page.
It has a couple of stories which I am not sure are true but have been handed down.
I may not have connected it to your original message.
The Lewes DE thing is just where they landed. I don't think that they stayed there for any length. I currently live in Ocean City MD and have gone to the Zwaanendaal Museum in Lewes to try to find clues, but to no avail.
