We might have a connection. My great grandfather had 12 siblings. One of them was George Henry Fickes. He was born near Springfield, IL in 1884. He might be on the old side though, but it's possible. He married Clara Anderson in Minnesota 1910, and then went east. I think they ended up in Michigan. They had one known son named Roy W. Fickes, b. 1910.
George was probably named after an uncle George Fickes who served in the Civil War. He was from Coles Co. IL where this family originally settled from PA. I don't have a Harold in the family, but do you know the names of the 3 sisters? They used family names often, it could be a clue. Also, have you tried getting a death certificate or social security application for George? Theat might state the names of his parents.
