ethnic and heritage of the family name...
What is the historical, ethnic, and heritage of the Fidler family name...??I went to the Ellis Island web-page and found 100's of names from as many countries,,, this confusses me as usually the "theroy" of a family is it came from a specific local...[or a very few] my family name seems to be the excpetion..Mom and dad seem to say we are Dutch however this does not sound true... Delos Dale Fidler is my father [born in '38], and Delos C. Fidler born in [I think 1908] is my grandfather...
There are stories of my father's uncle serving in WWI and my grandfather's uncle serving in the Civil War... (American Civil War)... my family thinks an Adam Fidler served in the Amrican Revolutionary War and we are decended from him...
My grandmother (Fidler) was origially a Parker that is generally accepted as being British...
Any help on general questions first would be so very much appriciated...
Sincerely,
Thomas Dale Fidler
