There was a Stephen Fielder in the NW corner of Lafayette Co, Ms in the 1840's. He is listed in the Cash Ledger kept by James Holmes Taylor in his Tyro, Ms store now in Tate Co. He apparently died shortly before 1850 as his wife is listed alone in the 1850 census.
Her name is Mr Jane H. Fielder born 1808 in Kentucky. This would make this Stephen about15 to 20 years older than your Stephen. Possibly and Uncle ???????
Census for Stephen's children also state he was born in Kentucky. His children born in Tn are Mitchell S. Fielder born 1831 married S. Jane May, and Mary Fielder born 1834.
Children born in Ms are Frances E. Fielder born 1836 married James F. Jackson (her tombstone in an abandoned family cemetery known as Jackson Cem list parents name), Margaret Smith Fielder married William Decatur Jackson, Martha Eliza Fielder married Wilson C.Byrd, Thomas Fielder, and Stephen Fielder
