Dirk, it's great to hear from you in Belgium.
Most of us researching FIERS in the U.S. are stuck on William FIERS (guess b:1740) who had his first child about 1760 probably in Surry or Sussex County, Virginia. We can't find any FIERS earlier than that in the U.S. and have been unsuccessful in finding William on a ship list, thus far. I feel our roots could be in Belgium, or Germany, and maybe they first emmigrated to England before coming to America.
Are YOU familar with any FIERS that left Belgium for America before 1760? This William named his children William, John, Drury, Thomas Lawrence, and Lucinda. Please let us know if anything rings a bell and sounds familiar to you. Thanks.
