Colleen:

Mary Fears is possibly the daughter of James Fears who moved to Greene County, Tennessee in 1794. Believe Grainger was formed around same time frame.

James Fears later moves to Pulaski County, Kentucky and is enumerated in the 1810 census of same county. Grainger County, TN deeds show James Fears was a resident of Pulaski County when he sold property he purchased in 1794.

One major problem, no one has found a will or estate accounting for James Fears in Kentucky for determining his children.

Prior to 1794 is a guess, but a James Fears sold land in Halifax County, Virginia in 1790. I show the two James Fears to be one and the same. Others want more proof.
