I am not sure if this will make a connection with your family or not, but looks quite possible. I have a James Fiers who married Nancy Closs 07 Jan 1849 in Miami Co., IN. Nancy was born in OH. Their issue I believe are:

J.C. Fiers, b. abt 1854, IN
William N. Fiers, b. OCT 1857, IN
Dora Bell Fiers, b. abt 1860, IN
Irene Fiers, b. abt 1864
John J. Fiers, b. abt 1866
Mina E. Fiers, b. abt 1868
Robert D. Fiers, b. abt 1871

William N. Fiers married Delia Good abt 1889. She was born Jan 1868 in WV. Their issue:

Ester Opal Fiers, b. 1 Dec 1890 in Ridgeville, IN d. 5 Aug 1926 in Anderson, IN
John L. Fiers, b. Mar 1893 in IN
Orval Fiers, b. Mar 1896 in OH

Ester Opal Fiers married Ora Virgil Anthony 7 Aug 1907 in Anderson, IN. Ester is buried in the Maplewood Cemetery. Their issue:

Ralph Anthony b. 29 Sept 1908
Mary Louise Anthony b. 3 Jan 1911
Agnes Irene Anthony b. 16 May 1913
Anna Juanita Anthony b. 11 Jan 1916
Mildred Carmel Anthony b. 6 Jan 1922
Wilbur Charles Anthony b. Feb 1925

I believe that none of these children are alive today. My grandmother is Agnes Irene.
