Valerie:
Your post interested me because I have both FIFE's and HUNTERs, although your note about a daughter born c.1787 doesn't fit any of my info. Here's what I have:
I have a John (b abt 1720) who married Isabelle (b abt 1722)They had several children including James (my line b abt 1748/49 m. Catherine Snadon) and another John -- who could be yours. The dates would be right for a daughter born in 1787.
HUNTERs don't come into my line, though until the son James named above -- named John (b. April 13, 1782) marriesMargaret Hunter in 1803.However, I believe there is a good possibility that the FIFEs and HUNTERs are intermarried long before this because James & Margaret's son, Adam marries an Helen (Ellen) SHARP (whose mother is Mary HUNTER).
Confused yet?Let me know if you think we hook up somewhere.
