Mary Black born New Brunswick about 1808- married CALVERT???

Does anyone have any info on a Mary Black born about 1808/1809 in New Brunswick, Canada- she died July 26, 1886 and is buried at the Dorchester cemetery in Middlesex County, Ontario; at the time of her death Mary was a widow, the informant for her death was an Alexander McLean- would like to know who HE was as well.

Mary is buried in same grave or close to Sophia Smith second wife of Hiram Abiff FIFIELD, whose first wife was Eliza Black born New Brunswick in 1822. I suspect that Eliza and Mary were sisters, daughters of Dr. Daniel Black and his wife Mary McCarter or McCarty.

It is odd that Mary would have a death reg. and be buried as Mary Black if she was someone else's widow however and we are trying to figure out who she was married to. (Of course there is a chance that BLACK was her married name and she has a different maiden name, but we cannot figure out who she is- is she related to Sophia somehow, maybe a Smith or a Fifield?)

However, there is a chance she may have been married to a CALVERT, one of the sons of George Calvert Senior (1778-1856) from Nelson Township, Halton County, Ontario. George Calvert Senior was married three times- his first wife was Martha Hopkins 1789-1828 who was the mother I presume, of all of George's 13 Calvert children.

His second wife was MARY McCarter or McCarty BLACK, widow of Dr. Daniel Black of New Brunswick, who drowned in NB in June 1824. Mary McCarter Black Calvert died in 1831 and then George married Mary CROSSIN born 1784, I don't have a date of death for her.

Was the Mary Black who is buried at Dorchester Cemetery a daughter of same Mary Black who married George Calvert Senior, and if so, who was she married to before she died- was it one of George Calvert Senior's sons? His sons names were George Junior, Robert, Edward, Caleb, and Joseph Calvert. I am sure that Edward Calvert was married only to Mary Hare; Edward died in 1856 and is buried in Nassagaweya, Ontario with his wife Mary Hare. His brother Caleb died in 1854 and had been married to a Lydia Howell Smith. That leaves Joseph, Robert and George Junior.

Family information passed on had said that there was "a marriage between Mary Black and George Calvert that didn't last"- originally I thought it was the marriage between the mother Mary Black and George Calvert Senior, but their marriage only ended by Mary's DEATH, not by a breakdown, so my current thought is that there was another Mary Black-George Calvert marriage, and it would fit that it was same Mary above and George Junior.

Anyone with any info, please write to me. I would like to confirm this marriage and if my hunch is correct that it was Mary Black (daughter of Daniel & Mary Black) and George Calvert Junior- did they have any children so we can contact descendents?

Thanks from Nora in Alberta
