Emily Elizabeth Fifield - Engdahl - Campbell Obituary

Emily Elizabeth Fifield was born February 23, 1909 in Roseburg, Oregon and passed away June 29, 2008. She was the sixth child of Charles R. and Cecilia M. Fifield.

Her childhood was spent in Grants Pass, Oregon where she graduated from high school in 1936. She graduated from Northwest Deaconess Training School in Seattle, Washington in 1928. She was a receptionist in the Montana Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls, Montana and then Assistant Pastor in First Methodist Church in Great Falls.

She married the Rev. Harold L. Engdahl in Great Falls, Montana on October 2, 1932. To this union were born three children, Claudia, Lynn and Dennis. Rev. Engdahl pastored churches in Montana, Colorado and in the Calfornia-Nevada Conference. He passed away on December 15, 1965. He was at the time, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Yuba City.

Betty married a friend of many years, J. Merritt Campbell in April of 1972 and they lived in Santa Barbara, California until his death. She became a resident of Rogue Valley Manor in Medford, Oregon in July, 1982.

Survived by children, Claudia Horst, Lynn Engdahl and Dennis Engdahl. Also her step-daughter, Martha Sue Griffin and step-daughter-in-law, Carol Campbell. There are thirteen grandchildren, step-grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Memorial Service at 2:00 pm on June 12, 2008 at the Rogue Valley Manor in the auditorium.
Memorial gifts should go to the Rogue Valley Manor Foundation, 1200 Mira Mar, Medford, OR 97504, marked for Betty Campbell Memorial. These gifts will go to the transportation fund to transport patients to and from medical appointments.
