I'm not quite sure of the exact description of 'spamming' but do know that it usually involves someone blitzing people with things through e-mail and message boards. Hope that helps to explain it, maybe someone else can explain it properly.
On the subject of genealogy though, I see that you're surname is Figg, how far are you into your research? I have an Elizabeth Figg (my Great Great Grandmother) married to James Hopcroft in Hertfordshire, England in 1871. Her father was John Figg. I have already made contact with relatives I never knew I had, all up in Scotland. Unfortunately I have been forced to put my research on hold, that coupled with the fact that my website, which has family photos and my family tree on it appears to have gone missing from the internet, has really upset me.
I do hope that your research is going well and, if Elizabeth and John come into your tree at any time, please do let me know, I'll be happy to send you a copy of Elizabeth's marriage certificate.
