I am looking for any information on James and Susan Figg who came to Shelby Co. Ky prior to 1800 in the hopes that it may lead me to information on Samuel Ratcliffe/Ratcliff and his wife Susan. I suspect Samuel and Susan Ratcliffe may be the parents of my Isaiah Ratcliff who married Anne Scott daughter of James Scott.
Information I have is the Ratcliffes migrated from Rockbridge County VA to Shelby County KY along with (at least) the following people:
James and Susan Figg, Lemuel and Sarah McCormick, Joseph Hite, Sarah McCormick Wright, John McCormick
These people susposedly formed the first Methodist Church in Shelby County KY on the then known Fielding Neel farm. Not sure of exact time formed but about 1790-1800.
I believe Samuel and Susan Ratcliffe are the parents of Isaiah (married Anne Scott, daughter of James Scott, in 1810, moved to Putnam CO. IN), Samuel (married Kitty Scott, daughter of James Scott, in 1806), Isaac Scott married Ann Scott, daughter of ?, in 1812) and James (who later moved to White Co. ILL). I believe there are several other children in the family.
Any information on the Figgs would be great.
