FIGG, Thomas, Matross, Capt William Pierce's Co, Col. John
Crane's (Artillery) regt.; muster rolls for Sept-Nov 1778;
dated Providence; also, Capt Pierce's co, Col. John Crane's
(also given Col. Harrison's) regt; muster rolls for Dec,
1778, dated Providence; also, Capt Pierce's Co, Col Crane's
regt; muster rolls for Jan and Feb 1779 Providence;
enlisted Dec 20, 1776; enlistment, 3 years.

NO Providence, Ma-- so is it Provicence, RI???

This Thomas Figg is of the age to be the brother of
John Figg Sr b 1740; d Dec 1839-Jan 1840 Nelson Co, Ky;
m #2 Elizabeth Mitchell 1790 Berkeley Co, Va- my 4th
Gpts 3xs. VERY interested in the FIGG/FIG/FIGGE/FIGGS
famliy anywhere!!!

A son of this Thomas COULD be William FIGG 1830 Cen

Hobday, Francis, of Glouchester Co, Pilot. Entered service
early in 1778, and continued to the end of war (Henry,
Tarter and Dragon). Piloted the French Fleet in to the
York River, and when they went away he piloted some of the
French vessels that remained. LBP. Testimony of Henry
Hobday, Watlington Buchanan and WM FIGG. Hoges, Joseph.

William Waltlinger Buchanan filed for a pension for
services in the Rev War (several references to this pension

Found W. Buchanan listed in "Petitions of the Early
Inhabitants of Ky to the Gen Assy of Va 1769-1778:
Wmsburg, Nov 28, 1778 W. Buchanan.

Could not find Wm W. Buchanan in Glouchester Co, Va
in 1830. Apparently in Laurance Co, KY- at least, one
is listed. All same person??

No FIGG (sic) mgs in Glouchester Co, VA. to 1850 file on
