Hi Joe,
My Grandfather was Ernest Alexander Figg. He came to the US in abt 1910. Was born June 3, 1878 in London, Middlesex, England. His mother and father were James Edward Figg born June 16, 1833 London, Middlesex, England. Married 2 June, 1855 to Rosina Mitchell.
They were married in Jamaica Row Chapel Bermondsey, England. She was born in Witney, Oxford, England. They had 13 children:
James Thomas Figg
George Figg died as an infant
Rosena Figg (know as Rose Figge)
Frederick Figg
Louisa Figg
Edward James Figg
Anne Matilda Figg
Hellena Figg
Florence Figg
Herbert W. Figg
Arthur James Figg Married Alice Victoria Quick
Albert Henry Figg
Florence Emily Figg (different than above)
Ernest Alexander Figg married May Stafford

I have the birth dates for all the children as recorded by James Edward Figg in his notes.
All the children were born in London, Middlesex, England.
My grandfather told me that James Figg the boxer was his great, great (how many, not sure) Uncle. I asked my Aunt Ellen in England about it years ago and she said that was true but no one over there really cared and he was considered the black sheep of the family. She wasn't much into talking about the dead.
If any of the names above might be of interest I can provide dates of birth for each but not much else.
Dale Scott
