I am descended from Sarah Anne Figg who, I believe, is the daughter of James and Sarah (McCormack) Figg. She was born 23 Sep 1827 in Fayette or Shelby Co., KY. She married Howard Keiser in Jefferson Co., abt 1842/1844. Does anyone know more about the children of James and his two McCormack wives and children of each woman?

I am intrigued and confused by the analysis that John Figg b. 1840/1850 was married twice - The first marriage to an “Irish lady” and second to Elizabeth Mitchell. It seems more logical (my analytical math background) that there were two Johns.

•       “First John” born in 1740/1750, married 1760/1770, having children in the 1770’s.
•       Second John, a child of “First John” born in the 1770’s and marrying Elizabeth Mitchell in 1792, having children in the 1790’s – early 1800’s.

Has anyone else questioned this and have the same theory? Is there evidence that this man married twice?

I welcome your comments.
