Hi, Dana and Donna,

My name is Heather Heck, but I was Heather Figlar before I got married. My dad's people are Figlars, all living in Fairfield, Conn., but they were all born in Bridgeport. My grandfather was Raymond Joseph Figlar, his parents were Joseph and I believe her name was Josephine. They were originally from Hungary, and came over sometime in the early 1900s, when my grandfather was a little boy. My gradfather had an older brother, Gregory (Grygori?) who died as a small child. My gradfather travelled back and forth from the United States to Hungary as a kid to visit family during the summer. My gradfather died in 1988, but one of his sons, my Uncle Neil Figlar, still lives in Fairfield. My dad, Ray Figlar, lives in Pine Grove, West Virginia, and has his grandmother's family Bible. Does the name Golombus mean anything to either of you? The Figlars are related to them as well. I also recall some sort of family story about Steven and Andrew Figlar coming over from Hungary with their families to try and run a farm somewhere in Virginia, but something happened and they had to move back. My dad and my Uncle Neil would be the best sources, since they have most of the stuff in their homes. If you are interested in contacting either of them, please e-mail me so that I can e-mail contact info. to both of you. Ray is a technophobe who will probably never own a computer, but he loves phone calls and letters. Let me know what you all think and I'll tell you all I can.

Thanks and good luck,

Heather Figlar Heck
