Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

My GGrandfather John (or Janos) Figlar (or Figlyar) 1878-1956, immigrated to the USA from Nagymihaly, Hungary, which is now part of Slovakia. He arrived 22 April 1906 aboard the ship “Main” via Bremen Germany. Settled in Yonkers, NY, and then Bayonne, NJ. My GGrandmother, Maria (or Mary) Figlar 1885-1981, also immigrated from Nagymihaly, Hungary, which is now part of Slovakia. She arrived 3 July 1907 aboard the ship “The Kaiser Wilhelm II” via Bremen Germany, along with 2 year old daughter, Margit. Our Figlars may be related, but the connection probably needs to be made from back in the old country.
