If the 88 year old descendant of Henry Oliver File is in sufficient health, I would like to visit with him. I will be spending a day in Greenville IL within the next 10 days (while I am visiting my 92 yr old father in St. Louis) and would be happy to drive to Hillsboro.

My uncle who d. in 1999, a few days before his 83rd birthday, was a descendant of H.O. File's son George E. File, through his son Moses E. File (my uncle's grandfather.) My uncle, his wife, and his parents had all been active in the Masonic lodge in Pocahontas.

Since my uncle Horace worked in the fields with his grandfather growing up, he heard from him the story about how H.O. and family had moved from NC to TN where lightning destroyed their crops and led to the move to IL.

I will have limited access to email during my trip. Hope you see this and reply today or tomorrow, but please reply, in any case.

If the 88 yr. old is in too poor health to visit, then I will write you directly when I am back on my own computer.
