Lora: I found the cemetery in the search for my gggrandfather and it turned out he was there, only I could not find his stone. It is abandoned and VERY neglected. I am in the process of trying to find out what I can do to save this cemetery. It is Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery in East Spencer, Rowan Co., NC. As it stands now, the church is for sale and I am assuming the cemetery will go as well. If I can have it declared abandoned, perhaps I can get some state money to clean it up and maintain it. I have relatives who are willing to get together and go there on a Saturday to clean it up and repair the stones, I cannot bear the thought of it disappearing into the woods. All of the graves predate 1925 and there are about 70. I have a list of people there if you are interested in that I can email it to you.
