William H. Adcock (father of Esther Melissa Adcock)
was in Co. A 24th Reg. Texas Calvary. According to
his Confederate Civil war record he was mustered in
at Camp Carter, Hempstead, Texas. April 4, 1862.
Capt. R.S. Pool's Company, 2 Regiment Carter's Brigade
Texas Lancers. The last entry says that he died at
Arkansas Post 3ed Dec. 1862.
Also available is information on Arkansas Post National
Memorial.
