Robert Files son of Samuel lived on Fort Hill in Goprham, maine. He married Patience Phinney, daughter of Ebenezer, and sister to his brother Thomas's wife. She died sept. 16, 1850, and he married second Mrs. Ann(Berry) Thomas. He died Mar. 7, 1866 at 72 yrs. [page 495 McLellan's History of Gorham].Ebenezer lived and died for the most of his life in Standish, Maine[next town above Gorham]. His children were probably born there, although most lived later in Gorham [page 715 McLellans]. Patience was the Great grand daughter of John Phinney, the first settler of Gorham. Email me if you can understand this, also Gorham Historical has a spot on
the Gorham Regional Federal Credit Union's Web site, that might help you.---www.gorhamcu.com --- I live on Fort Hill in Gorham, and still own some of the original first property of our family. John Files
