Update to my old 1999 message: I have lots more information on the Files Families of Greenville and Gorham Maine since the posting dated Jan. 1999.

~ Henry and Louisa Sawyer were married April 11, 1879. They had three children: Stillman W. (1880-1961), Fred J. (1884-1951), and Florence E. Sawyer (1886-1972).

~ Fred Sawyer married Isabel Files in 1902 and they had four children: The oldest, Madeline A. Sawyer(1902-1999) is my Grandmother. She was married in 1922 to Edward F. Jennings.

~ I would love to hear from cousins and share information on the Files families and the Moosehead Lake area. I have more information on the Files family going back to William Files the Old Ranger and Gorham, Maine. Gorham families include Samuel & Esther Files, Ebnezer & Patience (Phinney) Files.

~ For those with roots in Piscataquis County, Maine - Please see the Greenville, Maine Genealogy web site. Moosehead Lake Region.
