Yes, I believe you are correct. Please see my other Files entry. My ancestor may be of the German Files of New York. There is an Isaac Files who was christened in the First Dutch Reformed Church in Albany, NY 1766 son of Johan Melchior Files and who I believe to be my Ruby Files' (Fyles') father. He is of German decent. There was also a Peter Fyles son of George christened at the First Dutch Reformed Church in Fonda, NY. I would love to see if our families are connected through this line if you are willing to share.
