Thank you for your recent reply to my post of 9/9/2000 regarding the FILES family.
Since my original query was posted, I have been fortunate to correspond with three different persons connected to the family of John Robert Davis and his wife, Coralie Files. Are you also a descendant?
The two sons....John Robert Davis, Jr., and John Laroc Davis, moved from Mexico City to Michigan, along with their father, John Robert Davis, Sr. John Jr. became a successful physician and practiced in Toledo, OH. John Laroc resided in Ann Arbor, MI and died there April 3, 1959.
The father, John R. Davis, Sr., supposedly died about 1906 in or near Ann Arbor, MI; however, no conclusive evidence has been found to substantiate this. It appears that John R. Davis, Sr. and his wife, Coralie, were estranged, but again there is no proof that I am aware of.
Coralie Stuart Davis was married to Richard Honey, Jr., and remained in Mexico City. They had 3 children....John Robert Honey, Richard Honey, and Emma Honey. I do not have any information pertaining to Coralie's date of death, nor that of her mother, Elizabeth (Bessie) Files, who also resided in Mexico City.
