Filion/Alixe and Martel?
Posted by: M.K. Date: February 12, 2002 at 13:39:47

I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they have any information on an Ellen (last name might be Martel-?) (1856-1952) that married Marcelin (Marcel) L'Esperance (aka Hope in English) (1858-1949). TRYING TO FIND OUT WHO ELLEN'S PARENTS WERE TO VERIFY HER SURNAME.

Ellen and Marcelin L'Esperance had a son, Marcel L'Esperance (1878-1963) that married Emma Filion (1882-1957) at St. Cajetan de Mansonville, P.Q., Canada on June 18, 1900. Emma Filion was the daughter of Hermenegilde Filion and Rose Anna Alixe.

Marcel L'Esperance and Emma Filion had 6 children in Mansonville between 1901 and 1908, then moved to St. Albans, VT. From there they moved to Ludlow, MA.

Can anyone tell me what the connection is between the Martel's and the Filion's--like what were the names of Ellen's parents?

I am trying to help someone connect to the Martel's in my family?

Thanks for any help or information!
