Well, it seems unlikely that they are the same immediate family, but I also have FILSINGERs from the 1880's in the St. Louis area.

My 2xs great grandmother was Christina FILSINGER (1886-1982). Her siblings (and I don't have dates) were Caroline, Alfred, Frank, Emma, Catherine, Frank, and Christopher. I know their mother's name was Caroline NIEBLING. I don't know their father's name beside the surname FILSINGER, though according to my grandmother, he was Jewish.

Emma, Alfred, and Caroline: Common names or family names?

My Christina married William Leopold HOHLFELD (5/1/?-6/26/56).

Good luck!
