My name is Jay Fimple. I live in Vinita, Oklahoma, U.S. We have started a website www.fimple.com
My ancestor came over on a ship called the Phoenix in 1752. His name was Johannes Fimpel (and family). We are trying to connect all of the Fimpels/Fimples here in the U.S. There don't seem to be that many. Is Fimpel a common name over in Germany?
Here is my main question. I was told by a professor of Medieval History that the old Castle Wulkow was once owned by the Fimpel family and he also said that one of the Fimpels in the old country was a knight. Thus making all of his descendants eligible for membership in one of several Knightly Orders. Are you familiar with any of this and would you be interested in discussing it?
