hi dianne,

installing a fimpel family genealogy forum incidently i passed the fimple forum. nice to see that there's already sth. in progress.

as i'm only starting my activities i cannot provide many hints. anything i can say that in the south german region of (city names following)

Ravensburg (state Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany)
Amtzell (state Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany)
Wangen (state Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany)

there are a lot of fimpel around. Quite a common name there. additional i sent you an e-mail i (better my uncle wolfgang) have received some weeks ago (see below).

i checked the wulkow connection, but unfortunately i haven't found a hint about any fimpel up there in the north east of germany. but please feel free to check the links again:

... or try to conntact jay personally. Hopefully she don't mind that i have passed her e-mail on.

if you have some new info don't hesitate to contact me.

good luck

Hello Wolfgang:

My name is Jay Fimple. I live in Vinita, Oklahoma, U.S. We have started a website

My ancestor came over on a ship called the Phoenix in 1752. His name was Johannes Fimpel (and family). We are trying to connect all of the Fimpels/Fimples here in the U.S. There don't seem to be that many. Is Fimpel a common name over in Germany?

Here is my main question. I was told by a professor of Medieval History that the old Castle Wulkow was once owned by the Fimpel family and he also said that one of the Fimpels in the old country was a knight. Thus making all of his descendants eligible for membership in one of several Knightly Orders. Are you familiar with any of this and would you be interested in discussing it?
