I have a John Finan b abt 1818 from Ireland. Married 1st wife we believe a Margret. Had a son John Finan b. PA. Names in family seem to be James as middle names, Thomas and we believe this John Finan to be from Roscommon. His first son seems to have been born about 1850. But not quite sure of that as I can't find him in any PA or NJ, NJ census so far. Since Thomas and James are so popular as middle names I have to conclude John's father to be either a James or Thomas. He also had a daughter. One census says NJ one says NY so a bit confusing. Hope you find yours.

Regina
