I just thought I would post an update on this family:
I found Edward Finegan in Kirkdale, Lancashire, England in the 1871 Brit Census with the following family:
Husband Edward Finegan a Mariner At Sea during the census, born Ire.
Wife Mary Born Ireland abt 1839
Daughter Mary age 15 born Ire (might be a relative/sibling?)
Son Edward age 8 born Lpool
Son Dennis age 6 born Lpool
Dau Margaret age 4 b Lpool
Dau Rosina age 2 born Lpool
In the 1881 British Census the family consist of:
Edward Finnigan age 34, a mariner,
residing at 27 Young St. West Ham, Essex, England
Mary wife age 33, born Eng
Margaret dau, age 13, born Lpool
Rosina dau, age 10 born Lpool
Catherine dau age 8, born Lpool
Note the two boys, Edward and Dennis, are not with the family at this time, nor were they living with the family in the U.S.A. in the 1900 census.
I know Margaret married a Peter McDonald, and lived in Jersey City on Newkirk St and Summit Ave.
Catherine married a Patrick Egan and lived in the "Heights" in Jersey City.
Rosina we believe married a McGloughlin and lived in Hoboken?
Any information on these families would be appreciated.
