Just spoke with my mom, and she said the hospital in Secaucus was called Laurel Hill.

I almost forgot to tell you what some of the churches did for some of the poor of the congregation. They would offer a grave to them, that is if they did not have one. My great grandmother, was put in a what was called an indigent(spelling?) grave. Donated to her by the parish priest, a friend of hers.

Boy, oh boy, were her grandchildren upset with me when I told them about this. Lets not forget how upset they thought my great aunts and uncles were with their dad when they found out! But before the year was over, her children had her remains dug up and put in what they would have called an honorable grave.

The funeral home had this all documented. No one in the family knew about it! Everone gave me the evil eye when I told them. Now that time has passed, they all talk openly about it. But some of the funeral homes are very helpful. So don't discount them. You can find the name of the undertaker on Catherine's death certificate. Ask for the long form, it is sure to have it.

Just another avenue for you to research.
Mrs. Kotter
