Just paged through and was looking at some of the queries for the Finger family. Your's in particular caught my eye. Maybe we can compare notes and see where you got your info. My info differs from yours but I'm sure it is the same family. How are you related to this line?
For starters, I have the father of Ben & Sophia Finger as Peter & Rosa Rhodes Finger. Although Peter's father was Henrich "Henry" Finger. I found a marriage for Peter & Rosa in Madison Co, Mo on 22 June 1834. The 1830 reflects Peter is living in Wayne Co, Mo. I did not find Peter or Rosa in the 1840 MO Census or Rosa in the 1850 Census for MO. I assume that both died and left these young children orphaned with her brother. Peter and Rosa were both from Lincoln co, NC and migrated to MO prior to 1830. In the 1850 census both Ben & Rosa are living with an uncle ?Rhodes in Wayne Co, MO.
I have Sophia B. Finger (Born @ 1836) married William Franklin STEVENS in Madison CO, Mo 11 Mar 1858. This differs from the spouse you have listed for her. I have no further info on her family but can look up census at the local library.
Benjamin Franklin Finger was born Sept 1835 in Madison Co, Mo. He died 24 Apr 1896 in Marquand,Madison Co, Mo and is buried in the Old Whitener Cem. He married Mary Naomi Whitener on 22 Feb 1863. She was born 5 Mar 1841 in Mo. She died 13 Aug 1900 in St. Francios Co, MO and is buried in Old Whitener Cem, Marquand, Madison Co, Mo.They had FIVE children.
PLEASE Correspond, I have lots of info to share. Let's defintely compare Notes.
