I have an ancestor with the name Finger living in Albany county Ny in the 1800's who stated she was born in Germany, but I have not been able to locate more about her..

Josephine Finger Feb 9, 1828 - April 14, 1896
married
Nicholas Groben Jan 18, 1827 - Dec 2, 1894

they lived most of their lives in Greenville, Ny which is now part of Greene county, NY.
