Finger Family - 1850 NC Census
Posted by: Robert Burke Date: August 13, 2000 at 04:26:20

While looking for Susanah (Troutman) Finger, wife of Jacob Finger, in the 1850 Census of North Carolina, I discovered that some of the Finger families in Catawba Co are listed as "Linger" in the 1850 NC Census Index. The man who took the census wrote his Fs and Ls very much alike, but I am positive these families were Finger, not Linger.

In 1850, there were Finger families in Alexander, Catawba, Lincoln, and McDowell Counties of NC.
