I am looking for descendants of Clara Finicum/Finnicum and of her mother Mrs. Sarah (?) Mercer Finicum. My great-grandmother was Lucy Finicum, Mark S. Finicum's daughter.
I would love to find records of the family of Sarah (?) Mercer. I suspect that Clara, and maybe other members of my family, may have lived with Sarah's family after Mark S. Finicum died after 1870.
Clara’s mother appears to have been a Mrs. Sarah Mercer. I believe that it is
Sarah and her daughter, O A Marcer, who were recorded in this 1865 Kansas
Census. The entry is from Jefferson Co., Oskaloosa Twp., Cook's Ford, dwelling
#31, family #33.
Finnicum MS is age 65, male, a Trader, born in PA, and married.
S is age 49, female, born in OH, and married.
Marcer OA is age 16, female, born in OH.
Finnicum C is age 2, female, born in KS.
I believe that the marriage of Mark and Sarah is recorded in this entry from
"Marriage Licenses of Record Jefferson Co. KS 1855-1930 by the Jefferson Co.
Gen. Soc.".

Note that the 16 year old in the Kansas census entry has the surname Marcer,
therefore her mother was S (Unknown) Marcer before she married N.L.
Finnican/Mark S. Finnicum.
The last record that I have seen for Clara is the entry for Mark's family recorded
in Jasper Co. by the 1870 U.S. Census. The entry is from Georgia Twp., Jasper
Co., Missouri, dwelling #96, family #104.
Finnicum, M.S. is age 70, a druggist, born in PA.
Sarah is age 52, born in OH.
Clara A. is age 7, born in KS.
I do have a picture that was taken in Independence, KS. I believe that Clara
Finicum is the subject of the picture.
