Lazar, married Esther. Lazar was a shoe manufacturer. In 1906, he was sent to Irkutsk gobernia in penal servitude, probably because of the 1905 Revolution. His wife and daughters went with them. They had at least 6 children: Jacob(born in 1881), Abraham (b. 1884), Solomon (b. 1886), Benzion (b. 1887), Aba (b. 1893), Motya (b. 1897), and Chaya (b. 1898). At least 4 of the Finkelstein children emigrated to Phila.: Abe and Aba went first, then Jacob and Chaya. Abe and Aba had a shoe factory in Phila. Jacob joined them for a while in their business.
Jacob Finkelstein, married Sonya Ostrovsky, in Odessa. Samuel Finkelstein, was the oldest of the 5 Odessa - born children (2 were to be born in the U.S.), born on Jan. 27, 1903. He left Odessa with Jacob and two other siblings in 1911-12, when he was 8 or 9. They stayed some weeks in Paris and then sailed to the U.S. Sonya followed a year or so later with 2 smaller children.
