Lloyd:I sent you the following message directly but it bounced back so am posting it here.
Lloyd:
My name is Mike Vaughn, and I live in Tyler, Texas.I found your postings on GenForum on the Finklea and Manning lists and hope that we can help each other.
My paternal grandmother was a Finklea and I am very interested in that family.Another cousin, Dave Rayburn of Ft. Worth has begun a Finklea data base trying to identify all Finkleas in the US -- or at least those coming from South Carolina.
Dave and I work together on this project -- although the overwhelming majority of the work has been his.I help when I can.
We are interested in your Frank/Franklin Finklea who married Roxie Manning.
We have him in our data base as being born c. 1880, Conecuh County, AL, died 1911 in Foley, Baldwin County, AL, and married to Roxie Manning.
He was the son of Thomas Julius Caesar Finklea and Emily A. Finklea.
We have nothing on his descendants and would really like to fill out this part of the family. If you can help us with his wife and descendants it would be great.
I note the postings by Barbara Dove particularly the one in which she says that she found his children on the 1920 census in Baldwin County and gave some ages.I have been unable to find them on that census, and if Frank died in 1911, the birth dates that she gave for the children would make it impossible for at least some of them to have
been his children.
In any case we will appreciate any information that you can send, and will be happy to share with you what we have on his parents and progenitors.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best Wishes!
Mike Vaughn
