My maiden name is Finlay.

My Father came from Cavan. I still have lots of cousins in Ireland but not with name Finlay, the only 2 brothers to marry and have children were my Father and one of his brothers (there were 4 - 2 did not marry)3 were girls.

I am interested to start and trace my family tree, I wanted to do this whilst my Father was alive, unfortunately he died in August this year, but myself and my brother are keen to do at some point.

my fathers' brother is still alive and lives in Uk close by.

I also have many cousins in America, descendants of Finlay family now with the name Lovatt (spelling not so sure of but can find out) live near New York and San Fransico.
