Hi Cherry,
Needless to say I'm interested in any Finlays from Cavan County. My gggrandfather David Finlay was born there in 1804 and immigrated to Canada in 1840. His children were: Mary, Nancy, Margaret, Wallace (named after wife's surname) David and Robert. Wallace named his children Richard, Frank, William, Emma, David, Susan, Robert and Margaret. Robert named his sons Delmer and Frank. David named his children Phineas, Ernest, Roy, Mary Mabel, Maud, and Clara. My Finlays were protestants. Have yet to find any siblings of original David Finlay nor do I know precisely in Cavan Co. he was from.
cheers
Tom Finlay
