I have an extensive Finlay history back to 1712. My grandmother was a Finlay, and most of the branches from 1723 kept in touch and had/have big family reunions. My family descends from James Finlay (1816-1892), who came to the USA with his brothers William Finlay (1811-1867) and John Robert Finlay (1813-1877). John Robert F. had a son Andrew Mitchell Finlay (b. 1857, married Stella Norton - I have a quote from a book about him), who in turn had Andrew Lugar Finlay and Belle Finlay as children. At this point in the family record, contact was apparently lost, and we have known nothing more. My information comes from a 189 page book that my father's cousin, David Finlay prepared, with photos, etc., named "A Finlay Family." If you are interested in sharing information, please contact me by clicking on my name to get the e-mail address.
